Equipment Check: If a cartridge filter’s pressure climbs again within minutes of rinsing, stop the pump and inspect the impeller, returns, and cartridge pleats instead of continuing to add chlorine.
After large debris is removed, brush the walls, steps, benches, and floor toward the main drain. Pay close attention to corners where fine dust settles. Run the pump continuously for 12 to 24 hours, checking the pressure several times. Keep return jets aimed to create a slow circular flow rather than pushing water straight across the surface.
Clean the filter when pressure reaches the recommended limit. If the water is still cloudy, do not assume more chlorine will solve it. Test free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, and, when needed, stabilizer and calcium hardness. A practical starting range is 2 to 4 ppm free chlorine, pH 7.2 to 7.8, and total alkalinity around 80 to 120 ppm.
