Use a nylon brush on plaster and vinyl surfaces unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise. A stainless-steel brush may be appropriate for certain plaster finishes, but using the wrong brush can damage a surface.
Vacuum the pool or verify that the automatic cleaner is moving correctly. Check cleaner hoses for cracks and inspect the cleaner’s diaphragm, turbine, or tracks. Desert dust can load a cleaner quickly, and a cleaner that sits in one corner is not doing its job.
Test the complete water balance weekly: free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, and calcium hardness.
